Description
- The modern paradigm for medical and healthcare services, so-called “Four P’s medicine” (i.e., Predictive, Personalized, Preemptive, Participatory medicine), requires IT-convergence technologies among biological, medical, and computer sciences, defining an interdisciplinary area of biomedical informatics. SBI-NCRC was established in September 2010 as a KRF-supported National Core Research Center (Director: Prof. Juhan Kim at Seoul National University, College of Medicine) with an aim to study and understand multi-faceted knowledge and experience of this new field, and develop the so-called “Health Avatar” for integrating genome, clinical, and life pattern information of each individual. More than 30 professors and researchers from SNU, KAIST, Ajou University, and ETRI are participating in this center as the principal investigators. Our lab’s research goals in this NCRC involve customized and context-aware healthcare service agents in smart phone environment.
